Summer Camp

Each summer, the Christian Church in Kentucky offers age-appropriate camps for elementary age children and youth. The Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) operates two campsites in Kentucky, Camp Wakon Da-Ho and Camp Kum Ba Yah. Each campsite offers camping options for youth and children of all ages.

Dates are published in January. Applications are typically available in February and early bird rates are available until May 1. Beargrass typically attends the camps at Camp Wakon Da-Ho in Yosemite, Kentucky, which is about two hours from Louisville. Listed below are the camps available for children and youth.

  • Camp 101 – A two-day experience (Saturday morning through Sunday afternoon) available for children who have completed first or second grade  (A parent/guardian must attend with each child.)
  • Mini Camp – A three-day experience (Friday afternoon through Sunday afternoon) available for children who have completed third grade (A parent does not have to attend.)
  • Junior Camp – A five-day experience (Monday morning through Friday afternoon) available for children who have completed fourth or fifth grade (A parent does not have to attend.)
  • Chi Rho Camp−A five-day experience for youth who have completed sixth, seventh, or eighth grade.
  • CYF Camp−A five-day experience for youth who have completed ninth, tenth, eleventh, or twelfth grade.
