Mission Statement:
Families of Faith, meeting together to strengthen our relationship with God, our families and one another.
Who we are:
Families of Faith are a small multi-generational group with 6 to 14 class members attending our weekly Sunday school discussion. We have been together for almost a year and discuss a variety of topics with an emphasis on parenting. Our emphasis is on parents with young children but welcome all perspectives and backgrounds to share in our study and fellowship.
Previous discussions have included:
• “Becoming the Parent God wants you to be” by Dr. Kevin Leman. This book covered a variety of topics on parenting skills while utilizing the teachings of the Bible as a guide to better understanding raising a child in today’s world.
• Discussion of a variety of passages from both the Old and New testament.
• Stewardship of time, talent and treasures.
As part of building fellowship we will be spending part of the time in November and December joining with and meeting other Sunday School classes. These include:
• Chris Rakestraw will be teaching a series on author Dietrich Bonehoffer who was a theologian killed by the Nazi’s.
• We will be joining the CNN class pm 11/20 for a special guest speaker.
• We will be joining the Seekers class on 11/27 as a special get together after Thanksgiving.
• A Christmas breakfast with the Sojourners class on 12/18.
Ministry: We continue to look for opportunities to help support our community. A recent example
• Shopped together for food for the Youth Group to take on their mission trip to Nashville
Fellowship: One of our goals is to meet socially at least once a quarter for fellowship and some terrific food. This has included the Easter Egg hunt, Church Family fun night, Trunk or Treat. We will be celebrating our one year anniversary in February. We also just recently met to have a baby shower for two of our members.
