At Beargrass Christian Church, lay Elders join ordained ministers in presiding at the Lord’s Table in celebration of Communion. The lay Elders and called Pastors provide spiritual oversight and care for members in partnership with one another. Elders visit the sick and home-bound, and serve on ministry teams. Elders are also part of the official board.

Deacons serve communion, serve on ministry teams and the official board, and assist the elders and ordained ministers in caring for the congregation.

At Beargrass, elders and deacons are ordained by the congregation and serve terms of three years before rotating off the board for a year. Deacons and Elders are elected by the congregation and agree to Deacon_and_ Elder_Covenants established by the congregation.

Nominations for new elders and deacons and youth elders and deacons are now being accepted from the congregation.
