  • Louise, the Adventure of a Chicken by Kate Dicamileo was given in honor of Chloe Ann Robich, daughter of Melissa and Mark Robich.

Memorials:

  • Kiss Your Elbow: A Kentucky Memoir by Deanna O’Daniel given in memory of Cleo Collins by the Winners Circle. (Revisit Louisville’s downtown department stores; spend a day at Fountaine Ferry park; feel a part of a close-knit era.)
  • The Greater Journey: Americans in Paris by David McCullough given in memory of Donald Towles by Rebecca Blakemore.

  • A Life of Faith: Elsie Densmore, a series based on the bestselling classic by Martha Finley. It includes Elsie’s End- less Wait, Elsie’s Impossible Choice, and Elsie’s New Life.

Memorials

  • Angels, God’s Secret Agents by Billy Graham was given by Marilyn Simonds in memory of her uncle, 1st Lt. Jack Volz, a World War II military hero and in memory of Virginia Simonds, his sister, and Helen Volz, his mother. Lt. Volz lived from 1921 until 1943.
  • This Odd and Wondrous Calling: The Public and Pri vate Lives of Two Ministers by Lillian Daniel and Martin B. Coperhaver, dedicated to the ministerial staff of Beargrass Christian Church in loving memory of Rev. Mary Beth Guy, was given by her sister, Julie Heil.
  • Known and Unknown: a Memoir by Donald Rumsfeld was given in memory of Kathy Stevens by Bob Stevens.

Honorials:

  • The Watcher: Jane Goodall’s Life with Chimps by Jea- nette Winter given in honor of Emery Clark Tremayne, son of Terrianne and John Tremayne, by the Library Committee.
  • Between Shades of Gray by Ruta Sepetys, was given in honor of Gabrielle Rainbolt, Chloe Bernhart, and Grace Rainbolt, children of Ashley Rainbolt. This book will interest both young people and adults as it tells of the long and harrowing journey of a Lithuanian 15-year-old girl and her family being snatched from their home and sent to Siberia.
  • The Greatest Commandment, Matthew 22:37, by David T. Steineker, was given by his parents, Bob and Lynne Steineker. The author, a chemistry teacher at Eastern High School, is patenting a system for distillation of ethanol.
